Dr Alexandra Henschke -
General Paediatrician
Alex is a general paediatrician and sees patients from birth to 18 years. She has experience in a wide range of general paediatric conditions such as asthma, eczema, continence, infant feeding and settling and abdominal pain.
Alex is the lead specialist in the multidisciplinary team who see’s a lot of our neurodevelopmental-behavioural patients, including children with concerns such as ADHD, autism and anxiety, and is a member of the Neurodevelopmental and Behavioural Paediatric Society of Australasia.
Alex completed her medical degree at Monash University in 2009 and completed her paediatric training at The Royal Children’s Hospital, Monash Children’s Hospital, Frankston Hospital and The Mercy Hospital for Women. She has worked in regional NSW, gaining experience in regional paediatrics.
In addition to her private practice at The Bays Hospital, Alex works at Peninsula Health in the school outreach paediatric clinic service. Alex enjoys working and collaborating with a child’s allied health, educational and community-based team.
As a mother of young children, Alex understands the complexities of parenting and that each child is an individual. Alex enjoys working with children and their families to ensure that every child thrives and reaches their potential.
